Implantation under a complete loss of teeth
Currently, there are software for processing computed tomography (see section "Diagnosis and planning for implant treatment"), which allows to plan the surgical and orthopedic stages of implantation under a complete loss of teeth. Computer tomography makes it possible to thoroughly study the anatomy of hard and soft tissues, as well as perform a virtual planning of implant placing.
Thanks to the navigation software for correct positioning of the implants, a stereolithographic surgical template is made which is fixed on the toothless jaw during surgery and the implants are accurately installed according to it. The whole operation is performed without incisions, which reduces the negative feelings in the postoperative period.
Also, prior to implantation, individual abutments (the intermediate part between the implant and crown) are made of zirconium using computer technology, which facilitate achieving high aesthetic result. Immediately after surgery, individual abutments are fixed provisionally and plastic restoration (temporary crowns).
Thus, thanks to modern computer technology we have the following advantages during implantation under a complete loss of teeth: the implants are installed with a minimal surgical intervention and at the same visit a prefabricated orthotic construction is fixed for a period of 3-6 months.
