Dental Implants

Dental Implants — how to install an artificial "root" made of titanium, into the upper or lower jaw. Implants are used as supports to which either the crown (replacing lost teeth) or removable or unremovable dentures are attached.

The replacement of one, several or all teeth by implants for long-term performance and achieving their aesthetic result should follow a clear algorithm for implant treatment:

1. Undergo diagnostic tests - CT scan, which is a three-dimensional image, allowing to identify with high accuracy the location, shape, size and structure of various parts of the upper and lower jaw. Because of this, it is one of the key tools of modern diagnostics in dentistry.

2. After this, we define the overall risk of tooth implantation which takes into account your expectations, smoking, height smile line, gingival biotype in the field of treatment, the shape of the preserved and restored teeth, width and height of bone and soft tissues in the absence of teeth.

3. When making dental implants is decided, a wax model showing the desired position of the gingival margin, the shape of crown/crowns and periodontal papillae. Basing on a duplicate of such model a surgical template is created, so that the implantologist can clearly position the implant / implants.

4. Then it is proceeded directly to the dental implanting and / or restoration of bone / gums.

5. After some time, second surgical stage is conducted - gum shaper setup or abutment.

6. Then in esthetically significant area a temporary restoration on the implant is made.

7. Only after all these steps a permanent restoration (crown) is starting to be made.

Strict adherence to the algorithm of implant treatment can rehabilitate the adentia district with a beautiful and long-term restoration on the implant. To learn more about dental implants you can look other parts of my site. (See also implantation in Wikipedia).
